Two Greek-inspired epics are being pulled from Peacock in the US following a wave of renewed interest sparked by Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which has grossed nearly $1.5 billion worldwide. While Troy (2004) remains on the platform until the end of August, the 2010 remake of Clash of the Titans, starring Liam Neeson, is also set to leave the service, despite having been rediscovered by audiences drawn to the Greek mythology trend.

Clash of the Titans was a major box office success on release, taking almost $500 million worldwide against a reported $125 million budget, a figure remarkably close to Troy's own worldwide gross. However, the film is now better remembered for its poor post-conversion 3D, a rushed process applied after filming had already been completed in standard 2D, a technique many studios adopted following the success of James Cameron's Avatar without matching Cameron's years of dedicated 3D development.
