‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Officially Returns With New Release in 2027

Collider · 3 hours ago

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, which became a surprise streaming hit after its planned theatrical run was moved to Paramount+, is getting a physical 4K UHD steelbook release. The move addresses fan concerns about the film becoming difficult to access long-term, following its earlier leak and amid wider industry debate about the value of physical media ownership.

The steelbook is listed for pre-order on Amazon at $45.99 and is scheduled for release on 9 February 2027. The film, set 13 years after the Hundred-Year War, follows Aang (voiced by Eric Nam) alongside Team Avatar, with a cast including Jessica Matten, Roman Zaragoza, Dionne Quan and Steven Yeun, plus guest voices from Dave Bautista, Taika Waititi, Ronny Chieng, Ken Jeong and Ke Huy Quan. It has been well received, holding a 90% Certified Fresh critics' score and 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, though some reviewers felt it catered more to existing fans than newcomers.
