A previously stalled Avatar: The Last Airbender spin-off, Avatar: Chibi Minis, has returned with a new episode after entering a hiatus, timed to build anticipation ahead of the franchise's next major instalment. The series retells key moments from the original 2005 animated show in a cuter, chibi-style format, and this latest release takes fans back to the very beginning of the story.

The new episode, titled "The 'True' Story of Meeting Aang", was released on the Avatar Legends YouTube channel and runs roughly three minutes long. It reimagines Katara and Sokka's discovery of Aang frozen in an iceberg in the South Pole, along with Prince Zuko's first attempt to capture him, featuring familiar beats such as the otter penguin race and Katara's waterbending duel with her brother, albeit with some comedic changes. Chibi Minis was announced in 2025 with a planned ten-episode run but only released a handful before pausing; its previous episode, "Aang's Fiery Escape!", aired on 27 October 2025.
