Marvel Studios' trailer for "Avengers: Endgame Encore" — a theatrical re-release of the 2019 blockbuster featuring never-before-seen footage from the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday" — has smashed the record for the most-viewed trailer re-release, according to Deadline. The re-release is designed to build anticipation ahead of "Doomsday", which arrives in cinemas in four months, and has already sparked fan speculation online about what the teased new footage might contain.

The trailer racked up 77 million views in its first 24 hours, roughly four times the previous best for a re-release trailer. It overtakes the record set by Top Gun's 40th-anniversary re-release trailer, which drew 19 million views in a day, ahead of similar re-release trailers for Avatar and Titanic. "Avengers: Endgame", the fourth Avengers film and 22nd instalment in the MCU, grossed over $2.7 billion worldwide and briefly held the record as the highest-grossing film ever before being overtaken by Avatar; it also holds strong critical and audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes.
