Variety · 3 hours ago

The Bangkok International Content Market (BICM2026) concluded its debut edition this month having generated an estimated THB2.2 billion ($65.5 million) in business value, marking a strong launch for Thailand's first purpose-built international content marketplace. Held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and organised by the Creative Economy Agency under the Thailand Content Market 2026 umbrella, the event brought together content owners, producers, distributors and streamers to strike deals across film, television and production services, positioning Thailand as a regional hub for the wider ASEAN market.

Over three days, more than 600 participants took part, with the flagship business matching programme facilitating over 1,200 one-on-one meetings that produced licensing, adaptation-rights and co-production agreements. The market also struck partnerships with regional counterparts including QCinema in the Philippines, JAFF Market in Indonesia, Taiwan Creative Content Fest and Danang Asian Film Festival in Vietnam. A pitching competition attracted more than 55 projects, with Taiwan's "Honey Milk" winning the $10,000 Asian Project Pitching prize, while two Thai projects, "The Mining" and "The Kindness of Miss Ari", each received $5,000 grants.
