Barbara Eden, the 95-year-old star of "I Dream of Jeannie," reassured fans after she was forced to withdraw at the last minute from an appearance at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival in Los Angeles, where organisers had initially cited a "sudden illness." The actress took to Instagram to clarify that she had not fallen ill but was experiencing unpleasant side effects from a newly prescribed medication, which her doctor advised her to stay home to manage.

Eden was due to receive the Cinecon Legacy Award and introduce a screening of her 1961 film "All Hands on Deck" alongside co-star Pat Boone, who accepted the honour on her behalf in her absence. In her social media post, Eden thanked fans for their concern, calling the situation "just a speedbump" and saying she expects to resume public appearances once cleared by her doctor. Best known for her role opposite Larry Hagman in "I Dream of Jeannie" (1965–1970), Eden has enjoyed a seven-decade career including films with Elvis Presley and TV roles in "Dallas" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch."
