Barbra Streisand is publishing her first children's picture book, titled "And By the Way…", set for release next spring. The move sees the singer and actress branch out into a new creative field, drawing on her experience as a grandmother to inspire the project.

The book, published by Flamingo Books (an imprint of Penguin Young Readers), follows a grandparent and grandchild spending a day together on adventures that reveal some of life's core truths, with themes of discovery, self-expression, self-reliance and love. Streisand said the idea grew from time spent reading to her three grandchildren, and the title borrows one of her own signature phrases. It is available for preorder now and officially publishes on 30 March 2027.
