IGN has published a spoiler-free review of "Batman: Caped Crusader" Season 2, ahead of its premiere on Prime Video. The animated series, overseen by Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Bruce Timm, continues its adult-oriented, noir-influenced take on Gotham City, and the review finds the new season darker and more assured, though still carrying over some of the flaws from its first run.

The reviewer notes that Season 2 continues from the first season's Harvey Dent storyline, with Batman (voiced by Hamish Linklater) facing crime boss Rupert Thorne alongside new threats including the Riddler and the Joker. A recurring criticism is that the show remains more interested in its rogues' gallery and supporting cast, such as Barbara Gordon, Roxy Rocket and Detective Flass, than in giving Bruce Wayne himself psychological depth, leaving the title character feeling comparatively flat. All 10 episodes of Season 2 are set to premiere on Prime Video on Friday, 31 July.
