Prime Video's Batman: Caped Crusader has returned for a second season, with creator Bruce Timm again trying to recapture the spirit of the classic 1990s Batman: The Animated Series through a 1940s film-noir lens. According to Polygon's review, the follow-up largely fails to live up to its predecessor, despite an earlier first season that was praised for its portrayal of Gotham's corruption and its reworking of Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

The review singles out the Riddler, voiced by Ronan Raftery, as the season's biggest weakness, reimagined as a gun-toting thug rather than the puzzle-obsessed schemer of the comics, and criticised for receiving disproportionate screen time across the ten new episodes. Other villains, including Mr Zero (formerly Mr Freeze), Mad Hatter and Scarecrow, are described as underused or thinly developed, while Batman himself is often relegated to a passive observer as plots resolve via villains killing one another. One episode, "The Spectral Hand", is highlighted as a standout for successfully paying off a season one storyline involving corrupt cop Jim Corrigan.
