England's run to the World Cup semi-finals means they now face one of two remaining opponents from that side of the draw, Argentina or Switzerland, with the tie set for Atlanta. The tournament is being held across the United States, and England reached this stage by beating Norway in the quarter-finals in Miami.
The two teams still to be decided, Argentina and Switzerland, are due to play each other to determine who England will meet in Atlanta. Argentina go into the tournament as one of the sport's traditional powerhouses and reigning champions from the 2022 World Cup, while Switzerland are considered the less fancied of the pair, so the outcome of their match matters greatly for England's route to a possible final.
A semi-final place matters because it puts England within one win of reaching the World Cup final itself, a stage the men's team has reached only once before, in 1966. The match is also significant for domestic audiences, as it will be shown live and free to watch in the UK.
