The BBC has upheld complaints about a comment linking Victoria Beckham to a highly offensive swear word during Have I Got News For You. Its Executive Complaints Unit said the programme had editorial justification for quoting the word from an alleged email by David Beckham, but not for a remark suggesting Victoria Beckham was equivalent to it.

The episode, broadcast on 7 November and hosted by Katherine Ryan, included discussion of leaked emails and carried a strong-language warning. Following the ruling, an edited version will replace the current programme on BBC iPlayer; two viewers had complained that the comment was gratuitously offensive.
