## Summary

Beast of Reincarnation, a soulslike action RPG developed by Game Freak in which a girl and her dog fight through post-apocalyptic Japan, launched on 4th August 2026. Within a day, the studio confirmed it would roll out a series of ongoing updates in response to player and critical feedback, with a first patch targeted for release within a week, most notably addressing complaints about the game's story pacing.

The patch will also bring camera adjustments, larger text size, and a switch of the default display setting from cinematic to performance mode. Reviewer criticism had centred on Game Freak's tendency towards drawn-out, filler-heavy storytelling that disrupted the game's pacing, echoing a wider trend of developers issuing post-launch narrative fixes for titles criticised on release, as seen previously with Crimson Desert.
