Belkin has launched its first power banks using semi-solid-state battery technology, joining rivals such as BMX, Kuxiu and Zens in adopting the newer format. The company says its "BoostSolid Cell" design, which adds a gel-like layer alongside the standard liquid electrolyte, allows the devices to last up to three times longer than conventional power banks while reducing the risk of overheating, swelling or fires and maintaining steady power delivery across a wider range of temperatures. Although pricier than power banks with similar specifications, Belkin argues the extended lifespan justifies the cost.

Two models are being released: the £-equivalent $69.99 UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K Qi2 15W, a 5,000mAh device that is 40% slimmer than comparable rivals and magnetically attaches to phones for wireless charging at up to 15W, or 22.5W via USB-C, though output drops sharply when charging two devices at once. The $89.99 UltraCharge Pro Power Bank 10K 60W adds a display showing charge level, power output and temperature, doubles the capacity to 10,000mAh, and can charge up to three devices simultaneously via two USB-C ports and one USB-A port, with a single-device maximum output of 60W over USB-C.
