Hadelich's performance was singled out for its apparent effortlessness, with his rising octaves seeming to float above the orchestra and his bowing almost inaudible, spanning a bel canto slow movement and a spirited final rondo. Scriabin's "Divine Poem" symphony, less frequently programmed due to its dense late-Romantic textures, was rendered with striking detail under Petrenko, building to a grand closing climax.
