Beyerdynamic has unveiled the Aventho Y, a new addition to its Aventho headphone line, headlined by an unusually long battery life for the £/€/$150 price point. The headphones can run for up to 90 hours on a single charge with active noise cancellation switched off, or 60 hours with it enabled, figures that stand out in a market where many wireless headphones still require frequent recharging. The launch also continues Beyerdynamic's push towards repairable audio gear, following its flagship MMX 230 model.

The Aventho Y supports quick charging, delivering six hours of playback from just five minutes plugged in, and users can replace the battery and ear cushions themselves thanks to redesigned sliders and hinges aimed at swapping worn parts rather than the whole unit. They use Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connectivity for switching between audio sources, ship with a USB-C cable for charging or wired listening, and support optional accessories including a boom microphone and a USB-C Wi-Fi dongle that stores under an ear cup. A companion app provides EQ controls, genre-based sound presets and firmware updates, and the headphones will be available in four colourways.
