Beyoncé Gets a ‘B’Day’ No. 1 as ‘Morning Dew (Donk)’ Tops Adult R&B Airplay

Billboard · 5 hours ago

Beyoncé has marked her 45th birthday with a fourth No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart, as "Morning Dew (Donk)" climbs from No. 3 to the top of the list dated 12 September. The achievement is notable because the track reached the summit in just six weeks, the fastest climb of any Beyoncé chart-topper on this survey, and coincides with the release of a 20th-anniversary expanded edition of her album "B'Day".

"Morning Dew," a surprise release from July 4 via Parkwood/Columbia, is Beyoncé's 32nd solo entry and 10th top 10 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart; it was reportedly recorded around 2013 and had circulated online for years before its official release. The song is also rising on related charts, climbing to No. 7 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and No. 3 on the combined R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, where its 13.8 million audience impressions (up 18% week-on-week) earned it the Greatest Gainer award. The reissued "B'Day," originally a 2006 chart-topping album that produced hits including "Irreplaceable" and "Deja Vu," now spans 31 tracks with newly released collaborations featuring Pharrell Williams, Maluma and Selena.
