NBC's cult favourite spy comedy-drama Chuck has surged up the Apple TV Store charts, drawing renewed attention to a series often overlooked despite its five-season run. The show is being highlighted for its distinctive blend of genres, combining the nerdy comedic sensibility of The Big Bang Theory with the espionage thrills of Alias, which helped it survive repeated cancellation threats and improve across its run.

The series follows Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi), a Stanford dropout working as an IT technician, whose brain becomes linked to a CIA/NSA supercomputer called the Intersect after he receives a mysterious email, making him a vital intelligence asset. He is paired with CIA agent Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski) and gruff NSA operative John Casey (Adam Baldwin) for missions, while comedic subplots involving his workplace, the Buy More, and colleagues such as Morgan Grimes provide the show's lighter side.
