Speaking on NBC's Meet the Press, Gates identified specific threats stemming from bad-faith use of AI, including bioterrorism and large-scale financial fraud. He contended that risks from human misuse represent a more pressing concern than the underlying technology itself, calling for systematic monitoring and safety mechanisms to be built into AI deployment to mitigate these dangers.
