## Key points

- Maher linked Swift’s dating history to young white men’s shift from Trump.
- His latest joke drew both groans and applause.
- Swift has criticised the double standard around women’s dating histories.

## Summary

Bill Maher joked that Taylor Swift had not “lost this many white guys” while discussing young white men’s shift away from Donald Trump after Republican losses in the US midterm elections. The remark drew a mix of groans and applause, and continues Maher’s repeated use of Swift’s dating history as material.

The article recalls earlier jabs, including Maher comparing a dinner with Trump to dating Swift and predicting in 2024 that Travis Kelce would leave her. Swift has previously described her dating history as normal and criticised the double standard that women face more scrutiny than men over past relationships. The article says Swift and Kelce married in July, though it does not give a year.
