Black Americans’ prospects worse under Trump administration: Urban League

The Hill · 3 hours ago

The National Urban League says Trump administration policies have worsened Black Americans’ economic and political prospects, placing the American Dream further out of reach. The organisation argues that rollbacks affecting civil rights, education, housing, healthcare and voting protections also risk harming lower-income and working Americans more broadly.

Its 50th annual State of Black America report characterises the situation as the most serious setback since the civil rights era. Urban League president Marc Morial urged opponents of the policies to respond through voting and economic action, while acknowledging Black Americans’ history of overcoming discrimination and adversity.
