## Key points

- Helen’s double life grows more perilous after her husband becomes Prime Minister.
- A kidnapped handler draws the Black Doves into an internal power struggle.
- Helen and Sam must weigh loyalty against their professional contracts.

## Summary

‘Black Doves’ returns for a second season that expands its espionage story and raises the personal stakes for Helen Webb. With her husband elected Prime Minister, Helen’s secret work becomes harder to conceal, while the kidnapping of her handler draws her into a struggle over the organisation’s future.

Set about a year after the first season, the six episodes follow Helen’s search for the truth and Sam Young’s attempt to navigate an arrest and a proposed contract killing. Their missions bring the longtime allies into conflict between professional obligations and personal loyalties. The review says the larger action set pieces and new cast members add energy while preserving the show’s established mix of drama and humour.
