Osbourne died on 22 July 2025 at the age of 76 following a long battle with various health issues. Ward posted on social media describing a "persistent silence" since his friend's death, while Butler shared a photograph of Osbourne on his bat throne, recalling the band's Back to the Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham just weeks before he died. Iommi also reflected on their friendship and weekly conversations, while Osbourne's daughter Kelly wrote publicly about her continuing grief a year on.
