Bluesky is expanding its AI assistant, Attie, with a beta feature called Quests that turns it into a research tool for information circulating across the wider AT Protocol-based social network. The move matters because it could make Bluesky’s open social ecosystem easier to navigate, while giving the company a potential route to attract users and eventually generate revenue.

Quests lets users ask for trends, news and influential accounts by topic or location across Bluesky and other compatible applications. Attie launched in March as a free tool for building custom feeds and algorithms without coding; Bluesky has around 45.6 million registered accounts, up from 40 million last October, and has raised $100 million to support experiments including AI, subscriptions and power-user tools.
