Redesigned BMW i3 priced from $61,500, with up to 468 miles’ range
BMW has revealed more details about its redesigned, all-electric i3 sedan, including a US starting price of $61,500 before a $1,350 destination fee and a planned launch in the first quarter of 2027. Its estimated EPA range of up to 468 miles could make it a strong long-distance option in the luxury electric-car market.
The i3 50 xDrive uses two motors producing a combined 463 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque. BMW has not disclosed battery capacity, but says its Gen6 cylindrical cells offer 20 per cent greater energy density than the previous generation; the car also includes vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-load charging, a redesigned display system, and Alexa integration.
