## Summary

A snorkeling boat exploded and caught fire near Nusa Penida, Bali, prompting four foreign tourists and their guide to jump into the sea. All passengers and crew were rescued, but the captain suffered serious burns to his legs.

Police said the explosion happened as the boat was preparing to leave Gamat Bay, about an hour into the trip, and may have come from a battery component. A passing boat rescued those aboard at around 2:50pm; the captain was taken to hospital. The boat, named Naomi, had recently undergone routine maintenance, and the cause remains under investigation.
