## Key points

- Ernie Johnson is leaving “Inside the NBA” after the season.
- Malika Andrews and Adam Lefkoe are possible successors.
- Charles Barkley’s future could also reshape the show.

## Summary

Ernie Johnson will retire as host of “Inside the NBA” after this season, leaving a major role open on one of sports media’s best-known programmes. The decision matters because the show’s future presenter will need to fit its informal style, while the production remains controlled by TNT’s owner even though it now airs on ESPN.

Malika Andrews and Adam Lefkoe are among the names being discussed, but sources cited in the article say there is no clear successor yet. Lefkoe has worked on the show and co-hosts a podcast with Shaquille O’Neal; Andrews hosts ESPN’s “NBA Today” and “NBA Countdown”. Charles Barkley has also said he may leave after the season, though he has made similar statements before, and Jalen Rose is reported as a possible replacement for him.
