The body of Michael Curnow, a 23-year-old musician who went missing more than a year ago, has been discovered in bushland in South Australia. His remains were found on Tuesday in the Mount Crawford Forest, north-east of Adelaide, after a member of the public reported finding a mountain bike and helmet and alerted authorities. Police have said they are not treating his death as suspicious, bringing a tragic conclusion to a search that had lasted over a year.

Mr Curnow, described as a talented musician, disappeared on 24 April last year after telling his parents he was "going to do some contemplating" in the hills, before loading his mountain bike into his car and driving off. When he failed to return home, an extensive search was launched, and his black Hyundai station wagon was found the following day near where he went missing. Dashcam footage captured a man matching his description walking along a road near Kersbrook, roughly 15 minutes from the forest, on the morning after he vanished, but there were no further sightings. A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
