Bon Dylan: Justin Vernon Plays Bob Dylan Covers Set At Eaux Claires 2026
Justin Vernon performed a Bob Dylan tribute set as “Bon Dylan” on the opening night of the Eaux Claires festival in Wisconsin, playing 15 songs from Dylan’s catalogue with several guest musicians. The performance mattered as it combined Vernon’s Bon Iver profile with a substantial, career-spanning homage to Dylan, following earlier covers performed under the name Bob Iver.
The set was weighted towards Dylan’s 1960s material and included “Tangled Up In Blue”, “All Along the Watchtower” and “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”, with Phil Cook, S. Carey, Monica Martin and J.P. Brooks joining on selected songs. Vernon also played a short acoustic Bon Iver set after replacing Kevin Morby, who withdrew because his partner Katie Crutchfield had given birth; it included Morby’s “Die Young” and an unreleased John Prine tribute, “Room To Spare”.
