## Summary

Eva Geller, 90, has died from complications following injuries sustained in the Bondi Beach attack, bringing the death toll to 16. Her death, almost eleven months after she was shot, highlights the lasting effects of the attack as its first anniversary approaches.

Geller, a Holocaust survivor and great-grandmother, spent lengthy periods in hospital and was recently treated for an infection before suffering a stroke. The attack took place during Hanukkah celebrations near Bondi Beach on 14 December last year; alleged gunman Sajid Akram was killed by police, while his son Naveed faces terrorism and murder charges. A royal commission has heard from more than 340 witnesses and is expected to report next month.
