Boosie Badazz Hit With Lawsuit Over Alleged Nightclub Hookah Assault: ‘Violently Ambushed’

Billboard · 4 hours ago

Rapper Boosie Badazz (Torence Hatch) is being sued by a Houston nightclub bouncer who alleges the rapper smashed a glass hookah over his head during a "violent ambush", leaving him bleeding heavily. Edward Iglehart filed the civil lawsuit on 24 July against both Boosie and the Dome nightclub, two months after the rapper was charged with felony aggravated assault over the same alleged incident, adding to a growing list of legal troubles for the star.

According to the complaint, the club had allegedly overserved alcohol to an already "severely intoxicated" Boosie before he struck Iglehart from behind while the bouncer was helping an intoxicated woman, said to be the rapper's niece, up from the floor. Boosie was released on $85,000 bond and has denied wrongdoing, calling the charges a "money grab", but probation officials have since recommended his federal supervised release be revoked following a prior gun-possession plea deal, potentially resulting in 18 months' imprisonment. The lawsuit names both Boosie, for assault and battery, and the venue's operator, 1720 Main Entities LLC, for alleged negligence in over-serving him.
