Bose Wants to Be the Centerpiece of Your Living Room Again With the Lifestyle Ultra Speaker
Bose has relaunched its Lifestyle branding, retired in 2022, with the new flagship Lifestyle Ultra Speaker leading a wider product range that also includes a soundbar and subwoofer. The launch signals Bose's effort to reposition itself as a central hub for home audio, offering a system that can start small and be expanded over time into a full multi-room or home cinema setup.
The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is priced at $299 in Black and White Smoke finishes and is currently a bestseller on Best Buy, which also offers a bundle with the soundbar and subwoofer for $1,699, a $199 saving. The speaker uses three drivers, including an upward-firing one, alongside Bose's TrueSpace processing and CleanBass technology for fuller sound without a separate subwoofer. It supports AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm input, and Bose says it is the first third-party speaker in the US to ship with Amazon's Alexa+ assistant, with the option to pair two units for stereo sound or expand into a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 home theatre system.
