Bose’s next open earbuds have more bass, more volume, and more battery life
Bose has announced the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen), updating its clip-on open-ear design with improved sound, louder playback and longer battery life. It has also introduced the cheaper Sport Open Earbuds, aimed at providing a more secure fit during exercise while preserving awareness of surrounding sounds.
The Ultra Open Earbuds cost $299 and offer up to nine hours’ playback, plus 19.5 hours from their wireless charging case; they include deeper bass, automatic volume adjustment and a new Cinema Mode. The Sport model costs $199, delivers up to seven hours of playback with a further 22 hours from its case, and adds a grippier silicone cuff and textured shortcut buttons. Both models go on preorder on 19 September and become available on 1 October.
