‘Bourbon & Lies’ Series Based On Books In Works At MGM TV From Sophia Stallone’s Callisto Media & Balboa Productions
Sophia Stallone's Callisto Media and Sylvester Stallone's Balboa Productions are developing "Bourbon & Lies", a romantic suspense television series for MGM Television, adapted from Victoria Wilder's bestselling novel of the same name. The show, set in the fictional town of Fiasco, Kentucky, follows an ex-cop and a mysterious stranger whose arrival at his family's distillery reignites old suspicions and buried secrets. The project continues a run of literary adaptations for both production companies and extends the Stallone family's growing presence in scripted television.
The series will be produced by Callisto Media and Balboa Productions, with D. Matt Geller overseeing for Balboa. Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin, previously showrunners on HBO Max's "The Flight Attendant", created the show and will serve as executive producers, while Sophia Stallone produces through Callisto. The source novel was the first instalment in Wilder's "Bourbon Boys" series, an Amazon number one bestseller published by Bloom Books in 2024, with rights sold in more than a dozen territories.

It is the first book in Wilder's "Bourbon Boys" series.
The television adaptation is being developed for MGM Television by two production companies with family ties. Callisto Media belongs to Sophia Stallone, while Balboa Productions belongs to her father, Sylvester Stallone, best known as an actor. Both companies have been building up a slate of television projects based on existing novels.
Behind the scenes, Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin, who previously ran the HBO Max series "The Flight Attendant", have written the show and will serve as executive producers. Sophia Stallone will produce for Callisto, D. Matt Geller will oversee the project for Balboa, and MGM Television will handle the production itself.
