Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere RPG Starter Set Is Now Being Sold at Target Retail Stores
Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere RPG has begun selling at Target, marking a notable step for a traditional tabletop role-playing game into a major mainstream retailer where such products rarely appear. Sanderson said he hopes the move will encourage Target to stock further Cosmere-related merchandise, and framed it as part of a wider trend of book-to-tabletop adaptations gaining traction, following the earlier success of the Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG.
The Stormlight Starter Set is priced at $24.99 and includes the Bridge Nine adventure, designed to introduce newcomers to RPG mechanics without spoiling the Stormlight Archive novels. The Cosmere RPG launched last year through Brotherwise Games, which is also developing a follow-up title, Stormlight: War for Roshar, due to launch on Kickstarter in autumn 2026. Separately, Sanderson has said he has completed the first draft of a Mistborn screenplay, part of a planned Cosmere film adaptation for Apple TV that currently has no confirmed release date.
