## Key points

- Gunmen fired at a Moorebank home with seven children inside.
- Attackers set an SUV alight and left a threatening note.
- Police are investigating links to an earlier fire on the street.

## Summary

Masked attackers fired at a home and set a car alight in Moorebank, south-west Sydney, while a woman and seven children were asleep inside. The children, aged three to ten, were unharmed, and police are searching for the group after they fled.

The attack happened at about 2.30am on Sunday, following an earlier car fire on the same street at about 4am on Saturday. Both incidents involved a white Mercedes, and police are investigating whether they are connected; they believe the first attack may have involved mistaken identity. The attackers left a threatening note, and a car used in the Sunday incident was later found burnt out in Bankstown.
