## Key points

- Debutant Camara hit the wall but qualified 13th.
- Penalties promote the Brazilian pair to 19th and 11th.

## Summary

Heavy rain disrupted qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, with Brazil’s two home drivers both suffering setbacks. Gabriel Bortoleto crashed his Audi into the barriers in Q1 and qualified last, while Formula One debutant Rafael Camara spun and later hit the wall, qualifying 13th.

The results tempered excitement over Brazil’s first home driver pairing at Interlagos in a decade, though both drivers said they would learn from the difficult session and focus on Sunday. Grid penalties for other drivers move Bortoleto up to 19th and Camara to 11th, despite their qualifying positions.
