## Key points

- The Brewers celebrated their first World Series title at Lambeau Field.
- Woodruff brought the trophy onto the field with Yelich and Frelick.
- Milwaukee planned a parade, with schools closed on Friday.

## Summary

Less than 24 hours after winning their first World Series title, the Milwaukee Brewers continued their celebrations at Lambeau Field during the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Carolina Panthers. Pitcher Brandon Woodruff carried the Commissioner’s Trophy onto the field, joined by Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick, whose attempted Lambeau Leap drew a warm response from the crowd.

Thousands of fans were expected at a victory parade in Milwaukee on Friday, and Milwaukee Public Schools announced a closure, citing operational and safety concerns. The parade was set to pass through downtown and finish with a fan festival at Henry Maier Festival Park. The Brewers’ title and the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 NBA championship leave the Packers with Wisconsin’s longest championship drought among major men’s professional teams; in Thursday’s game, Green Bay led Carolina 20-10 at half-time and 27-10 in the third quarter.
