Little Spark Films has completed filming in Arlington, Texas on “Bridgette Wrona and the Whisper Creek Murders”, a young-adult mystery directed by Mary Beth McAndrews. The film centres on a true-crime podcaster investigating the return of a serial killer in rural East Texas, positioning itself as a female-led “gateway horror” story for teenage audiences.

Newcomer Amanda Huerta leads the cast after being spotted through Little Spark’s 48-hour film competition, alongside Lisa Gaye, Kelli Maroney, Alexandra Broussard and Larissa Dali. Preston Fassel wrote the script from a concept by Cameron Hazelwood; he described the intended tone as a thoughtful, non-franchise YA story and a teen-oriented version of “Twin Peaks”. Catalina Querida and Dali produced, while Joe Manco and Chris Rushing executive produced.
