A 31-year-old British woman, Rebecca Bullock, has died after being stabbed at a railway station in Rosenheim, Bavaria, just hours after arriving in Germany. She was named locally as the manager of the White Swan pub in Whitchurch, Buckinghamshire, and had reportedly been travelling to Austria to support a friend at a funeral when she was attacked in what is believed to have been an unprovoked assault.

Police were called to Rosenheim station at around 12.50am on Sunday and arrested a 27-year-old German man of no fixed abode, who has since been detained in a psychiatric hospital on suspicion of murder. Tributes have poured in from her village community, where she was remembered as a caring, much-loved figure who organised charity events at the pub, while the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office confirmed it is supporting her family and liaising with German authorities.
