BritBox has released a new trailer for Season 2 of "Ludwig", the detective drama starring David Mitchell, ahead of the show's return on 13 October. The series became a hit for the streamer after its 2024 debut, with viewers praising Mitchell's performance as puzzle designer John "Ludwig" Taylor, who impersonated his missing twin brother James to pose as a detective; the show matters as one of BritBox's flagship original successes, and this second run marks a significant shift in its premise while continuing to search for answers about James's disappearance.

In the new season, Ludwig no longer needs to impersonate his brother and instead works officially as a Crime Scene Consultant alongside DCI Russell Carter (Dipo Ola), though his official status now bars him from using police resources to search for James, who remains missing. Fleabag's Sian Clifford joins as local MP Joanne Kemper, the season's main suspect, alongside Mark Bonnar as newspaper editor Gareth Fisher, with Ben Ashenden and Rumi Sutton also joining the cast; they are joined by returning stars including Anna Maxwell Martin, Dylan Hughes, Dorothy Atkinson, Ralph Ineson and Karl Pilkington.
