British musician Thomas Crawford, 54, was found dead in the courtyard of a Buddhist temple in Thihagoda, Sri Lanka, on 16 August. Police have opened an investigation but said they did not believe there were suspicious circumstances; the Foreign Office is supporting his family.
The Glasgow-born singer had reportedly lived in Sri Lanka for several years and was staying at a hostel in Weligama, a south-coast surf town. Worshippers found his body after he left the hostel that morning, while a rented scooter and helmet were recovered nearby; friends described him as a talented, kind musician involved in art and charity work.
