Great Britain’s three finalists all lost at the European Boxing Championships, securing silver medals but no golds. Chantelle Reid and Abdul Burton were beaten 5-0, while Damar Thomas narrowly lost 3-2, adding to the team’s medal tally.

Reid lost the light-middleweight final to Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli, and Burton was defeated by Russia’s Viacheslav Rogozin in the men’s super-bantamweight. Thomas, a Commonwealth champion, lost to Russia’s David Surov in the super-heavyweight; GB’s five medals also include bronzes won by Callum Makin and Dimeji Shittu.
