However, Madison believes an unknown actress would be better suited to the role, arguing that someone "fresh" needs to be cast to fully embody the pop star. Director Jon M. Chu remains tight-lipped about the casting process, stating the production is currently focused on perfecting the script rather than selecting actors. The Universal Films project, based on Britney's 2023 memoir *The Woman in Me*, has Liz Meriweather writing the screenplay and Marc Platt producing. Chu revealed he has received hundreds of unsolicited casting suggestions from various parties.
