Brittany Snow has joined the cast of "The Housemaid's Secret," the sequel to 2025's surprise box office hit "The Housemaid," alongside previously announced stars Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst and Paul Anthony Kelly. The film continues the adaptation of Freida McFadden's bestselling novels, following live-in maid Millie (Sweeney) as she takes on a new job for an employer she is never allowed to see, with Dunst and Kelly playing the couple concealing a dark secret. Snow will play Marybeth, a receptionist at the husband's company, adding to a franchise Lionsgate hopes to expand further given McFadden has already written a third book in the series.
Paul Feig, who directed the original film to $400 million worldwide against a $35 million budget, returns to helm the sequel, with Rebecca Sonnenshine also back to write the screenplay. Production on the psychological thriller is due to begin later this year, ahead of a planned Lionsgate release on 17 December 2027. Snow, recently seen in Netflix's "The Hunting Wives," is also known for "Hairspray," the "Pitch Perfect" trilogy and A24's "X."
