The strong finishes underline the ongoing appeal of star-driven revivals even as productions wind down, though not every closing show has confirmed it recouped its costs, highlighting the financial risk that persists even for commercially successful Broadway runs.

"Death of a Salesman", starring Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf, took $2.5 million over its final seven performances, the highest gross of any show that week, with average ticket prices reaching $239.61; despite this, the production, capitalised at up to $8.9 million, has not announced recoupment following its final performance on 9 August. The Andrew Lloyd Webber revival "Cats: The Jellicle Ball" also hit a series-high gross of $1.8 million with capacity above 100%, closing on 8 August after roughly five months. Solo show "Every Brilliant Thing", which had already announced recoupment, closed on Sunday with Tracee Ellis Ross in the lead role, having earlier featured Daniel Radcliffe and Mariska Hargitay, and grossed $886,815 in its final week. Elsewhere, "Hamilton" ($2.3 million), "The Lion King" ($2.2 million), "Ragtime" ($1.85 million) and "MJ" ($1.84 million) rounded out the week's top grossers.
