Bruce Campbell, best known as Ash Williams in the *Evil Dead* franchise, has said the only cult-classic role he would consider revisiting is Brisco County Jr. from the 1993 Western series *The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.* Speaking to Collider ahead of his new film *Ernie & Emma*, Campbell confirmed he has retired from playing Ash following *Ash vs. Evil Dead*, but floated a detailed concept for a possible Brisco reboot centred on the character in later life.

In his pitch, Brisco would now be an older, wealthy Harvard-educated lawyer running his own San Francisco practice, with the story opening on the murder of his old partner Lord Bowler (whose actor, Julius Carry, has since died). Campbell suggested weaving in unresolved villains beyond the show's Billy Drago character, plus a new generation including Brisco's previously unseen son and Bowler's vengeful bounty-hunter son. The interview coincides with the release of *Ernie & Emma*, in which Campbell plays a widower scattering his late wife's ashes across the state.
