Bryan Adams and Pat Benatar Unite for Unforgettable Stevie Wonder Performance in Detroit

American Songwriter · 5 hours ago

Bryan Adams invited Pat Benatar and her husband, guitarist Neil Giraldo, to join him on stage during a Detroit tour stop, marking the first time the pair had performed together despite Benatar and Giraldo supporting Adams on recent American tour legs. The trio delivered a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition", giving fans a rare, spontaneous collaboration between two major rock acts as Adams' tour in support of his album Roll with the Punches drew to a close.

The Detroit show, on 16 August, was the final date of the tour, after which the artists go their separate ways: Benatar heads into a run of Canadian dates, while Adams travels to Germany before returning to the US for Las Vegas shows starting 28 October. "Superstition", originally recorded by Wonder for his 1972 album Talking Book, won two Grammy Awards, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and features on CBS News's list of 250 essential American songs.
