BTS singer V treated for severe right-ear hearing loss

BTS member V has disclosed that he is receiving treatment for significant hearing loss in his right ear during the group’s ARIRANG world tour. The new detail is his estimate that hearing in that ear is at about 30% compared with his left, highlighting a health concern as BTS undertakes its first world tour in more than four years.
V said the issue has lasted for more than two years and worsened during his military service, which ended in June 2025; he is now taking medication and attending regular hospital appointments. Fellow member Jung Kook also said he is managing a shin injury that may develop into a stress fracture, while BTS continues its North American dates before touring South America, Asia and Australia.

BTS is a seven-member South Korean pop group whose global success has made its members closely watched figures both on and off stage. V, whose full name is Kim Tae-hyung, is one of the group’s singers and is also known for solo music and acting projects.
