BTS singer V treated for severe right-ear hearing loss

BTS member V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, has said he is receiving treatment for significant hearing loss in his right ear while the group undertakes its ARIRANG world tour. He estimated that hearing in the affected ear is around 30% of that in his left ear, drawing attention to a longstanding health issue during BTS’s first world tour in more than four years.
V said the problem has persisted for over two years and worsened during his South Korean military service, which ended in June 2025; he is taking medication and attending regular hospital appointments. Fellow member Jung Kook also reported a shin injury that could develop into a stress fracture, as BTS continues North American shows before planned dates in South America, Asia and Australia.
