## Key points

- Buatsi faces Hutchinson in a Manchester rematch for the WBC title.
- He was booed by Hutchinson’s supporters at the weigh-in.
- Buatsi made the 12st 7lb limit on his second attempt.

## Summary

Joshua Buatsi was booed by Willy Hutchinson’s supporters at the weigh-in ahead of their WBC light-heavyweight title fight in Manchester on Saturday. The rematch matters because Buatsi’s split-decision win in their first meeting, more than two years ago, was closely contested, and the vacant world title is now at stake.

Hutchinson weighed in first to cheers from his Scottish following. Buatsi was initially an ounce over the 12st 7lb limit at the official weigh-in, but made the required weight at a second attempt; the 33-year-old has 20 professional wins and one defeat, while Hutchinson, 28, has 20 wins and two defeats. The bout was upgraded from an interim title fight after David Benavidez vacated the WBC belt to move up to cruiserweight.
