The review would examine the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol) Act 1985, with possible trials considered. Supporters point to cricket, rugby and football abroad, while alcohol has already been permitted in the stands during trials involving women’s football. Police say alcohol often contributes to football-related violence and are seeking discussions with the Prime Minister before any changes are made.
